“World Cup inflation”: check out the main increases from 2018 to 2022
Since the last edition of the tournament, the price of the sticker pack has doubled.
And for fans who abandoned the album, family barbecues will also feel the price of inflation.
Everything has become much more expensive than the last edition of the competition. According to a survey conducted by XP, the price hike in products such as meat was already occurring before the pandemic in 2019, but, after its onset, these prices increased even more. A relevant factor is the increase in the price of the dollar in relation to the real, since products such as packaging are priced in dollars.
Anyone who wants to support the team wearing a Brazil shirt, for example, will have to pay R$349,90, 40% more expensive than in 2018, and well above the accumulated inflation over the period.
Despite this, this year's t-shirt sales have been a success and surpassed 2018 sales in the first month.
Whether you're watching at home or at the bar, the fact is that the 2022 World Cup will weigh more heavily on your pocket than the 2018 World Cup. Check out the images to see the increase in prices since the last World Cup.
